- Stray dogs are caught under Ordinance No. 00-153, the City Pound Code of Dipolog City (November 14, 2000), and vaccinated against rabies when impounded.
- Residents and institutions can request dog impounding by calling the City Veterinary Office or through the city's Sky One Command Center at City Hall. Barangays can request a dog-catching schedule through a letter to the City Mayor.
